I wrote a style fic that lightly touches on how teenage Kyle is struggling with all that Cartman did to him as a kid. Stan keeps Kyle company on a day where it is particularly weighing on him and they have a soft night together.

SCREAMING
“Kyle? Dude, what are you doing here? Everybody’s looking for you! …Kyle?”
“Do you know what happened to me this morning, Stan? This morning, I woke up and felt a sharp pain in my ass. I felt down there and found this big, sore lump… on my ass, Stan. I couldn’t even sit down, so I had to tell my mother, which was humiliating. She took me to the doctor, which was more humiliating, and he told me. I have a hemorrhoid… It’s like an infected blood vessel on your ass. I’m nine years old and I have a hemorrhoid, Stan. I have a hemorrhoid, and Cartman has his own theme park.”
“Kyle, I understand what you mean, but–”
“Do you? Do you, Stan? Because all my life, I was raised to believe in Jehovah. To believe that we should behave a certain way and good things would come to us. I make mistakes, but every week I try to better myself. I’m always saying, ‘You know, I’ve learned something today.’ And what does this so-called God give me in return? A hemorrhoid! It doesn’t make sense! What is your logic?! …ow.”
“Look, Cartman… he thinks he is going to be happy because he has his own amusement park, but he’s going to find out that, without other people, the rides are totally lame. I mean, who could really have fun by themselves at a theme park? I bet he’s sick of it already.”
“Cartman, you are so goddamn stupid, it is unbelievable.”
why are?? artists so abused?? they get stolen from and accused and belittled and?? treated like less of a human being?? why are artists treated so badly?? theyre humans who need money to live and survive too. they work as hard as everyone else too. they contribute to the world too. like any other people, they do not deserve to be abused by selfish people.
because awful people who can’t or don’t make art (of any kind: music, painting, writing, whatever) frequently assume one or all of the following about people who can and do:
a) that art is easy to make;b) that because art is easy, artists aren’t really talented - rather, they’re lazy people who want praise for doing something anyone could do, but that only an unambitious person would do;
c) that art is like fast food: it only matters because consumers want it now, not in its own right, which means that they, the audience, are entitled to exactly the art that they want, exactly the way they want it, exactly when they want it, without reference to the needs, preferences or personhood of the artist, who should count themselves lucky not to have been replaced by a machine;
d) that creation is purely mechanical, and should therefore happen exactly on time exactly to specification without any delays, changes or obstacles whatsoever, tab A into slot B;
e) that art isn’t really important, but god help the artist who does something they don’t like or fails to quickly deliver something they do, because the consumer is;
f) that art is a hobby, not a skilled profession - artists should be grateful to be paid in exposure or meagre amounts of money, because they’re not actually working in any meaningful sense, so what does it matter if someone steals or reattributes their work? that other person isn’t reaping any real benefit, because art isn’t professional, and the original artist made it to be shared, so what’s the big deal?
etcetera, etcetera, etcetera
basically artists are abused because people are assholes, is what I’m saying.
But that’s none of my business.
